Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounting Coordinator for an independent school located in Seattle, Washington. This full-time, onsite role provides accounting and operational support to the CFO/Controller and Finance Manager and is ideal for someone looking to grow their accounting career in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Accounting Coordinator will provide day-to-day accounting support, including accounts payable, cash receipts, monthly reconciliations, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance. This role serves as a critical backup for other accounting staff and coordinates with multiple departments, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in ADP and Excel, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversee accounts payable functions and maintain accurate records
- Process cash receipts and disbursements
- Reconcile accounts monthly and assist with general ledger maintenance
- Coordinate monthly reconciliations with departments such as Facilities, Development, and Extended Day
- Handle all payroll functions, including tax reports, W-2 generation, and processing through ADP
- Assist in preparing financial reports for the CFO and other stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS: - AA or BA in Accounting required
- Proven experience with accounts payable and payroll processing
- Proficiency in ADP and advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with Veracross a plus
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
