Job description

Executive, Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)

The Executive, Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) will be part of a dynamic, growing security team delivering integrated security solutions that enable GE Aerospace to protect its people, property, products, business operations, and digital assets. This role serves as the senior business focal point for enterprise security operations, including the Aerospace Response Center (ARC), counterintelligence, protective intelligence, threat analysis, workplace violence prevention, insider threat support, and global security technology solutions. Reporting directly to the Chief Security Officer, this executive will set the vision, strategy, and operating model for a globally integrated GSOC capability that supports crisis response, intelligence-driven decision making, incident monitoring, threat escalation, and security technology enablement across GE Aerospace.

This position requires a seasoned, collaborative leader with strong business acumen and demonstrated experience leading complex global security functions in a fast-paced and highly matrixed environment. The successful candidate will be a thought leader, mentor, collaborator, and problem solver who can integrate people, process, intelligence, and technology into a scalable global security operating model. Candidates must be comfortable operating at the most senior levels of the company and influencing cross-functional stakeholders globally.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Set a clear vision and strategy for the GSOC organization, influencing beyond the immediate team across the business and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the enterprise GSOC function, with executive responsibility for Aerospace Response Center (ARC) operations, counterintelligence, protective intelligence, threat analysis, and global security technology solutions.
  • Oversee monitoring, escalation, and executive communications for security incidents, crisis events, suspicious activity, workplace violence concerns, and emerging threats.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for GSOC analysts, ARC personnel, Control Rooms, and site security teams worldwide.
  • Ensure the protection and support of employees and assets through close coordination with crisis management, security operations, intelligence and risk, Environmental Health & Safety, legal, HR, compliance, digital technology, and other business process service providers.
  • Lead protective intelligence and threat analysis efforts to identify, assess, escalate, and mitigate risks to executives, employees, travelers, facilities, and operations.
  • Provide leadership for counterintelligence programs, including support for insider risk mitigation, hostile intelligence threat detection, and unauthorized disclosure response.
  • Partner closely with Legal, HR, Compliance, Investigations, EHS, Digital Technology, and business leaders on insider threat, workplace violence prevention, and broader enterprise security issues.
  • Direct the strategy and continuous improvement of global security technology, including access control, badging, intrusion detection, video analytics, incident management systems, CCTV, monitoring tools, and automation.
  • Own GSOC and ARC training, governance, quality, metrics, KPIs, and KRIs.
  • Build scalable operating processes, standard work, and performance management practices that support a growing global footprint and evolving threat environment.
  • Lead cross-functional programs and projects tied to crisis response, intelligence integration, workplace violence prevention, and enterprise security operations.
  • Manage budget and operational performance with a strong data- and metrics-driven approach.
  • Coach and develop talent, strengthen team capability, and help build a diverse, high-performing organization.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in security, intelligence, crisis management, classified programs, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated executive leadership experience across multiple security disciplines, including operations, intelligence, crisis response, and technology-enabled security solutions.
  • Experience leading a globally dispersed workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a multi-million-dollar budget.
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) security program requirements and regulations, including NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), NIST 800-53, JSIG, RMF, COMSEC, and related requirements.
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: GSOC or security operations center leadership, Counterintelligence, Protective intelligence, Threat analysis, Insider threat, Workplace violence prevention, Crisis management and Security technology systems
  • Demonstrated experience across the following security disciplines: personnel, information, industrial, physical, crisis management, insider threat, and intelligence operations.
  • Strong customer focus; evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong relationships, and creates processes with the customer viewpoint in mind.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate information quickly, anticipate obstacles, and develop practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and solve dynamic, complex problems with global cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, flexible, and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across diverse cross-functional groups, including senior executives and external partners.
  • Strong prioritization, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to influence and make recommendations at all levels of the organization.
  • Change-oriented leader who actively generates process improvements, drives change, and addresses difficult circumstances creatively.
  • Strong team player with experience working seamlessly across a highly matrixed structure.
