Description:
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To develop, maintain, test and debug software to meet generally defined requirements in a Windows client/server environment utilizing software development languages/environments such as PL/SQL, Oracle, Progress GL Application Development Environment (ADE), .Net, Microsoft SQL, or other platforms; to formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding for the purpose of developing or modifying moderately complex information systems; to prepare detailed specification from which programs will be written; and to design, code, test, debug, document and maintain programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Becomes familiar with most aspects of the application including reports, parameters, claims management, intake services, carrier/client interfaces and vendor/business partner interfaces. Analyzes user needs as required; assists in the design of specifications to meet end user needs. Develops and modifies software to meet the specifications outlined in data processing requests. Develops and maintains software to meet requirements of insurance carrier and regulatory groups. Tests and debugs assigned projects; assists in testing projects for other members of the programming staff. Prepares documentation on new or existing software. Investigates call escalations from the support staff; makes the necessary corrections to data and/or software. Assists in the professional growth of programmers. Follows departmental pre-established standards and guidelines as they pertain to design and development. Adheres to the goal of delivering and maintaining the highest quality of customer service to our clients. Keeps abreast of software development language revisions and technology advances.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other duties as assigned. Supports the organization's quality program(s).

Requirements:
This position is contract to Hire and PREFERS Memphis, but Open to Remote
MUST SUBMIT COMPLETED SKILLSET MATRIX WITH EACH RESUME FOR CANDIDATE TO BE CONSIDERED
Skill Set Number of years of experience
Experience in writing Packages for data loads.
Experience creating and maintained Stored Procedure (Packages, Procedures, Function, and anonymous block) with Oracle PL/SQL
Experience using Cursors to pull data from the Database.
Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, explain plan etc
Experience with external tables, and high volume data import into Oracle DB
Manager's Notes:
At least + years of experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer.
Strong skills in Oracle server side programming which includes SQL, SQLPlus, PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Cursors, Triggers, Views, Materialize Views, Temporary tables, Object Oriented PL/SQL Programming, Job, Schedulers, PL/SQL Web-services, Java Stored Procedures and Oracle AQ.
Hands on experience on XML generation inside PL/SQL components.
Strong Skills in data analysis, data modeling, development, testing and documentation.
Strong skills on automating jobs using UNIX Shell scripts to run all the SQL files in a directory by invoking SQL Plus.
Hands on writing Cursors, User-defined Object types, Records, and Tables in PL/SQL Programming for generating worksheets, Arrays & Queues.
Strong Skills in Exception Handling extensively debug PL/SQL Code, DDL, DML and display the error messages in the application.
Experience in creating Materialized Views and Indexes for better performance of summary tables, Autonomous Transactions, Coding Dynamic SQL Statements.
Experience in SQL Tunning to improve the query performance by identifying key fields, adding/removing tables/fields, and use of indexes.
Good understanding of Oracle Explain Plan.

Education & Licensing Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Information Systems or Computer Science major preferred.
