Through education, training, and employment, we create pathways to success for individuals facing employment barriers. We empower people, strengthen families, and impact communities by addressing both immediate and future workforce needs. With the generous support of our donors and retail customers, we are changing lives through the power of work.

Position Summary: Leads employer partnership development and placement coordination to support job-ready customers across GWH's Career Centers, training programs, and career pathway initiatives. Strengthens workforce-to-employer alignment by cultivating strategic employer relationships, coordinating hiring pipelines, and supporting placements in living-wage career opportunities aligned with customer skills, credentials, and regional labor market demand. Serves as a liaison between WFD programs and employers across multiple industries, including skilled trades, clean technology, transportation and logistics, retail, healthcare support, customer service, information technology, and administrative pathways. Plays a critical role in expanding employer partnerships, increasing hiring event participation, and supporting placement outcomes that position GWH as a trusted workforce partner in the Greater Houston region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote employer awareness of GWH as a preferred source of workforce talent.
  • Represent GWH at workforce convenings, employer roundtables, hiring events, and industry partnership meetings.
  • Expand employer participation in recruitment activities, including hiring events, site visits, classroom engagement, and employer presentations.
  • Coordinate placement opportunities for Career Center job-ready customers and training program graduates.
  • Facilitate direct introductions between customers and hiring managers.
  • Support resume alignment, interview preparation coordination, and employer expectations matching.
  • Partner with Career Navigators, Employment Specialists, and Instructors to ensure customer readiness for employment opportunities.
  • Track employment placements aligned with career pathway goals and credential attainment.
  • Support retention strategies through structured employer follow-up and customer engagement.
  • Coordinate employer participation in hiring events across Career Centers and training locations.
  • Support planning and execution of sector-focused recruitment events.
  • Increase employer utilization of GWH talent pipelines.
  • Maintain consistent communication with participating employers to support repeat engagement.
  • Support continuous program improvement informed by labor market intelligence.
  • Support sector partnership activities and employer advisory engagement across workforce pathways.
  • Assist in collecting employer feedback to inform training alignment and credential relevance.
  • Identify emerging workforce needs and hiring trends across regional industries.
  • Share labor market insights with program leadership to strengthen pathway responsiveness.
  • Assist with monitoring placement metrics and employer engagement activity to support grant reporting and program evaluation.
  • Monitor placement outcomes and employer engagement activity supporting WFD performance goals.
  • Maintain documentation supporting placement verification and employer partnerships.
  • Contribute to dashboards tracking credential attainment, employment placement, and wage outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement aligned with program and WFD performance standards.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate professionalism, good judgment, and present a friendly, cooperative attitude.
  • Ability to multitask, make quick decisions, adapt to change, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Adheres to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations, and GWH Guiding Principles.
  • Must be punctual, maintain a professional appearance, and perform expected duties.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must perform all duties according to GWH safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping standards, and ensure all walkways are clear and free of clutter.
  • Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in workforce development, business, education, public administration, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience in employer engagement, job development, workforce partnerships, recruitment coordination, or industry relations.
  • Experience supporting placement into entry-level, mid-skill, or credential-based career pathways preferred.
  • Knowledge of regional workforce systems and employer hiring practices.
  • Existing employer relationships within Greater Houston priority industries is preferred.
  • Experience supporting grant-funded workforce initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating hiring events or employer collaboratives.
  • Familiarity with industry-recognized credentials aligned with workforce pathways.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment. GWH does not offer visa sponsorship for employment purposes.
