Shape the Future with Us.

At Lubrizol, we’re transforming the industry through science, sustainability, and a culture of inclusion. As part of our global team, you’ll be empowered to make a real impact—on your career, your community, and the world around you.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Manager, HR Systems & Data Management is responsible for end-to-end ownership of HR systems, data governance, and workforce data operations across Workday and connected platforms for OxyChem. This role oversees the integrity, security, and reliability of HR data while ensuring Workday and integrated HRIS solutions deliver a seamless, compliant, and scalable digital employee experience. Acting as a consultative partner to HR, IT, and business leaders, this role balances operational excellence with system optimization, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across the hire-to-retire lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Workday System & HR Operations

  • Oversee functional administration, configuration, governance, and day-to-day operations of Workday HCM, including Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent, Time Tracking, Payroll-related processes, Benefits, Reporting, People Analytics, and Prism.
  • Govern Workday business processes, notifications, help text, security roles, and access controls to ensure system stability, data quality, and compliance.
  • Serve as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Core HCM and downstream HR transactions.
  • Monitor and approve Hire, Termination, and Job Change transactions, ensuring subprocess accuracy and audit compliance.
  • Manage employee data processes across the full hire-to-retire lifecycle.

Data Integrity, Privacy & Compliance

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of workforce data across Workday and integrated systems.
  • Champion data privacy standards, role-based security, audit protocols, and regulatory compliance in partnership with Legal, Audit, Data Privacy, and IT.
  • Perform and oversee daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual audits; identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Document audit findings and lead remediation efforts to strengthen governance and controls.

Vendor, Integration & Ecosystem Management

  • Serve as escalation point for Workday and vendor-related issues, defects, or unexpected behavior.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of integration issues across Workday, SAP S/4HANA, payroll, timekeeping, benefits, identity, and third-party platforms.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to validate fixes, monitor error logs, and coordinate testing.
  • Ensure Workday design aligns with SAP S/4HANA master data, organizational structures, cost centers, and downstream dependencies.

Reporting, Analytics & Governance

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver workforce dashboards and reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage scheduled reporting cycles and respond to ad-hoc reporting and data requests.
  • Ensure reporting outputs meet governance, security, and data quality standards.
  • Complete monthly audits to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for process improvement.

Process Optimization & Change Management

  • Identify and lead opportunities for automation, AI enablement, and process improvement leveraging Workday capabilities.
  • Design and document streamlined HR processes leveraging Workday capabilities.
  • Act as a change management champion, driving adoption of new system capabilities and improved ways of working.

Stakeholder Partnership & Consultative Support

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR COEs, business leaders, and operations teams on optimal system usage and data-driven decision making.
  • Ensure complex workforce requirements (e.g., shift differentials, hourly populations, pay rules) are supported end-to-end.
  • Host regular touchpoints with HR stakeholders to align priorities, deliverables, and system impacts.

Team Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Lead, develop, and coach the Systems, Data, and HRIS support teams (analysts, administrators, reporting specialists).
  • Oversee Employee and HR Support Operations, including issue escalation and resolution.
  • Create, manage, and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics.
  • Review and guide team deliverables, including leadership presentations and operational updates.
  • Manage Workday-related projects, enhancements, and release readiness using structured project management practices.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Workday HCM experience; 2 years leading technical/functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, compliance standards, and audit practices.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and reporting platforms.
  • SuccessFactors LMS is helpful.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Highly effective and customer-oriented: maintains composure under pressure and works while meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Actively contributes to group responsibilities, adapts to change, and thrives in a service-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward

  • Prior HR Experience
