Job description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

This Electrical Engineer role offers the opportunity to work on high‑speed, complex machinery used in can‑making operations worldwide. You will contribute to the design and documentation of electrical systems, support customers and vendors, and gain hands-on experience with everything from PLCs to machine mechanisms. The position provides strong professional growth potential within an engineering-focused team and includes a competitive benefits package and long-term career advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems and documentation for high-speed machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Create accurate electrical project Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support procurement and production activities.
  • Produce detailed electrical project drawings using 3D design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, and other applicable software.
  • Use EPLAN (where applicable) to design and document electrical schematics and control systems.
  • Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant electrical codes and standards.
  • Interact directly with customers to gather specifications, clarify requirements, and support system design.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control issues in collaboration with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Address and resolve customer and vendor issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate closely with other electrical engineers and cross-functional team members to integrate electrical designs with mechanical systems and machine mechanisms.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of designs, processes, and documentation to enhance safety, quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the commissioning and ongoing support of machinery and systems as needed.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a closely related electrical role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with 3D design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks for electrical design and documentation.
  • Experience in creating electrical project Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Experience in creating and interpreting electrical project drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers for specification clarification and troubleshooting support.
  • Ability to address and resolve customer and vendor issues effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in machinery and manufacturing environments, ideally involving automated or high-speed equipment.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry is a strong plus.
  • Experience with EPLAN for electrical design and documentation is highly desirable.
  • Interest in working with PLCs and machine mechanisms as part of integrated systems.
  • Alignment with core values focused on safety, quality, sustainability, technology, customer satisfaction, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

Work Environment

You will work in a collaborative engineering team of approximately eight people, including multiple electrical engineers and other technical professionals. The environment emphasizes training and support; you will receive structured guidance and will not be expected to handle complex tasks entirely on your own at the outset. The organization designs and supports high-speed machinery that forms the backbone of can-making operations worldwide, providing exposure to advanced technologies, PLCs, and sophisticated machine mechanisms. The culture centers on safety, quality, sustainability, technology, and customer happiness, with a strong emphasis on respect, ethical business practices, and adding value for customers. The company offers clear progression within the engineering group, strong advancement opportunities, and a competitive benefits package that includes three weeks of vacation and a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match after 90 days. The team focuses on speed, quality, and efficiency in every interaction and supports customers globally with complete solutions ranging from individual machines to full facility design, build, and commissioning.
