Job description

Manager Of Corporate & Institutional Relations

Junior Achievement of Washington is seeking a Manager of Corporate & Institutional Relations to lead corporate fundraising, sponsorships, and partnership development efforts that support programs serving students across Washington. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role will focus on identifying and cultivating corporate partners, securing philanthropic support, managing donor relationships, and connecting businesses with volunteer and student engagement opportunities. You'll work closely with both development and program teams to create partnerships that drive meaningful impact while advancing JAWA's mission of preparing young people for success in work and life.

This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-focused fundraising professional who enjoys building partnerships, developing strategic growth opportunities, and making a tangible difference in communities throughout the state.

Here's a little about Junior Achievement of Washington:

Junior Achievement of Washington is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Through hands-on learning experiences focused on financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship, JAWA empowers students to confidently navigate their futures. Each year, the organization reaches thousands of students across Washington through partnerships with educators, volunteers, and business leaders who are committed to creating pathways to opportunity.

JAWA serves as a bridge between education and industry, connecting students with real-world experiences and mentors who help bring classroom learning to life. As a mission-driven organization, JAWA fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture where team members have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people and communities throughout the state.

About this role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-focused fundraising professional to help drive statewide growth and impact. The Statewide Development Manager will lead efforts to identify, cultivate, secure, and steward corporate partnerships and philanthropic investments that advance JAWA's mission and strategic priorities.

Working closely with the Chief Development Officer, development team, and program leaders, you'll play a critical role in expanding revenue, strengthening corporate engagement, and connecting partners to meaningful opportunities that support students across Washington. This position offers the chance to build influential relationships, lead fundraising initiatives, and help shape the future of a respected nonprofit organization.

Your contribution will likely include:

  • Lead the execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies, including corporate annual giving, major gifts, sponsorships, grants, partnerships, and mission-focused campaign initiatives.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partners whose philanthropic goals align with JAWA's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Develop compelling donor and prospect materials, presentations, proposals, and stewardship communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporations, foundations, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate partners, ensuring exceptional stewardship and long-term engagement.
  • Oversee annual, recurring, and special fundraising campaigns while providing timely reporting on progress and outcomes.
  • Analyze donor trends, fundraising performance, and partnership opportunities to inform future strategies and maximize results.
  • Maintain accurate prospect, donor, and funding records within fundraising systems and databases.
  • Assist with budget planning, revenue forecasting, expense tracking, and campaign reporting.
  • Partner with the Resource Development Committee to support strategic fundraising priorities and execute the annual development calendar.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to align corporate partnerships with student-facing programs and volunteer opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for corporate partners, ensuring seamless coordination between development and program teams.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to prospective partners, donors, and volunteer groups.
  • Recruit and engage corporate volunteers to support JAWA programs across the state.
  • Identify innovative opportunities that strengthen both fundraising outcomes and program impact.

Experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of successful fundraising experience, including corporate and foundation solicitation.
  • Candidates with a strong background in consultative sales, business development, or client relationship management will also be considered. Experience with prospecting, pipeline development, client acquisition, achieving sales quotas, and building long-term partnerships is highly valued and transferable to this fundraising-focused role.
  • Demonstrated success securing corporate partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and philanthropic support.
  • Proven ability to meet fundraising goals, manage deadlines, and drive measurable results.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, relationship building, and persuasive storytelling.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience maintaining confidential information and exercising sound professional judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising database platforms.
  • Data-driven approach to fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and performance analysis.
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute both strategic and day-to-day fundraising activities.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening events and rare weekend activities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel throughout Washington State.

What's in it for you:

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

In addition to competitive compensation, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Join a mission-driven organization making a measurable impact on students across Washington.
  • Build meaningful partnerships with leading corporations and community leaders.
  • Work in a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Help shape fundraising strategy and drive statewide growth.
  • Enjoy a hybrid work environment that offers flexibility while maintaining meaningful in-person collaboration.
