Job Overview

The Senior Manager of Learning and Development is a key leadership role responsible for building and scaling learning solutions that develop capability across Coca-Cola Consolidated. This hands-on leader will design, execute, and continuously improve comprehensive L&D programs, practices, and processes that align to our Business, Culture, and People Priorities.

In addition to owning the L&D program portfolio, this person leads a team of Learning and Development Managers who execute the talent strategy within their respective regions or internal customer groups. The ideal candidate is a skilled people leader, an experienced L&D practitioner, and a trusted partner to senior leaders who puts teammates and the business first. This role carries broad accountability for the full teammate experience — from onboarding through ongoing development.

Duties & Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Learning and Development Managers responsible for executing the talent strategy across designated regions or internal customer groups
  • Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and remove barriers to team performance
  • Model what great partnership looks like — coaching the team to show up as credible, consultative, and business-first in every leader interaction

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Proactively meet with key business leaders across assigned regions or internal customer groups to understand their priorities, challenges, and capability gaps
  • Serve as a trusted L&D advisor — translating business conversations into actionable learning strategies that are practical, scalable, and tied to measurable outcomes
  • Design learning solutions that are tailored to the audience, context, and business outcome
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, HRBPs, and cross-functional partners to stay ahead of business changes that require a learning response
  • Represent the L&D function with credibility and influence at the senior leader level, communicating in the language of the business

Program Design and Execution

  • Build and execute robust learning and development programs that align with organizational culture and business needs
  • Assess the quality, content, and effectiveness of training including program evaluations, training materials, and learning reinforcement
  • Help execute leadership development programs, ensuring consistent delivery and a high-quality experience for participants across the organization
  • Create scalable programs that empower teammates to achieve career and personal growth goals
  • Manage a broad portfolio of programs and priorities simultaneously, making smart trade-offs and keeping stakeholders informed
  • Work closely with Organizational Capabilities, Talent Acquisition, and HR to ensure learning strategies support a broad variety of organizational models and readiness for change

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop mechanisms to measure the success and business impact of L&D programs
  • Use data and evaluation insights to continuously improve programs and inform stakeholder decisions
  • Tell the story of learning impact in a way that resonates with senior leaders and connects investment to business results

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Deep expertise in L&D with exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to earn trust and influence senior leaders across multiple regions
  • High degree of business acumen and strategic thinking with the ability to serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to measure program effectiveness and translate data into actionable insights and business impact stories
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to lead a team through ambiguity and make sound trade-offs
  • Strong written and oral communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and levels of seniority

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
  • 5+ years of experience in Learning and Development, including program design, delivery, and evaluation
  • People leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams
  • Familiarity with talent strategy execution in a field or regional model
