KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2025-26 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating 3,000+ students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in the North and Westsides of Jacksonville, Florida :
- KIPP Impact Academy : Kindergarten – 8th grade
- KIPP VOICE Academy : Kindergarten – 8th grade
- KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy : Kindergarten – 8th grade
- KIPP Bold City High School : 9th - 12th grade
For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
K-8 Staff : 7 : 30am - 4 : 30pm K-8 Students : 8 : 00am - 3 : 30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1 : 30pm
High School Staff : 6 : 45am - 3 : 45pm, High School Students : 7 : 15am - 2 : 30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12 : 30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings.

Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks Learning Specialists (LS) for the 2025-26 school year. The LS focuses on ensuring that KIPP Jacksonville is in compliance with all Individual Education Plans (IEPs), teaching small groups of students, providing support facilitation in general education settings, and working with families around the special education process. The LS will work typically with multiple grade levels and will help facilitate the RtI process with staff. The LS will facilitate regular meetings around student IEPs and will work directly with students to ensure their IEP goals are met.
All Learning Specialists are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Principal.
Depending on the grade levels the LS works with, the model and schedule can vary slightly.

Our current starting salary for a first-year Learning Specialist is $50,000

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree
Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (ESE K-12)
At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom

Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress)
Additional certifications in K-6 or other subject area the LS supports in
