The Mechanical Engineer provides engineering expertise to the facilities management technical staff and to the BCM community at large. The Mechanical Engineer provides sound recommendations based on experience and engineering principles to solve complex (and sometimes simple) problems encountered in an academic medicine environment. This will include defining infrastructure capabilities and communicating these to a broad audience of medical researchers, clinical practitioners and administrative staff. Must be able to envision solutions and physically solve problems during emergencies with the resources available on site. Must be available 24/7 to support and direct emergency response or scheduled equipment shutdowns. Must be on site to support operations in case of emergencies or shutdowns.
