Bay Path University located in Longmeadow, Massachusetts is seeking an Information Technology Engineer. Will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of various technology systems at the University. Primary responsibilities include the management and maintenance of classroom and audio visual equipment, as well as providing technical support to all members of the University’s learning community. The incumbent is responsible for being the primary point of contact for all information technology-related issues and is expected to provide subject matter expertise in a wide variety of systems and services. Where applicable, the Information Technology Engineer works with staff, faculty, and learners to ensure that events are held without interruption or incident. Specific duties include: coordinate, manage and ensure that audio visual functions for events and meetings are set-up correctly; maintain digital signage systems; maintain an accurate inventory of systems and hardware; setup, configure, and repair classroom technologies as directed through Institutional ticketing systems; manage, configure, and maintain distance learning and lecture capture systems; manage and configure audio visual equipment such Cisco, Crestron and Extron control systems, including DSPs, touch screens, matrix mixers, switchers, and codec's; create and maintain documentation materials for the University’s audio visual systems; answer phone calls, log and track, follow up, and resolve tickets; instruct faculty members on the usage of classroom audio visual equipment; conduct training sessions for multimedia teaching aids related to usage and best practices; provide Quick Reference Guides (brief user instruction set) for control systems; and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The minimum requirements for this position are a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and two years experience in IT related field. Must be comfortable working with Crestron Control Systems; ability to setup, test, calibrate and commission equipment and devices as required producing fully functional systems including video displays, display systems, screens, cameras, switchers, scalers, processors, transmitters, receivers, interfaces, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, controls, and other active and passive devices; ability to multi-task and learn new duties and procedures quickly is essential; experience working in an educational environment is highly desirable; working knowledge of Audio Visual conference systems such as Zoom, WebEx or Skype, Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Windows 8 & 10, Mac OS 10+; demonstrated proficiency with PC and Mac; basic knowledge and troubleshooting of: TCP/IP, VLAN, WIFI concepts, and basic computer parts; strong organizational, administrative and time management skills; ability to solve problems, analyze data and synthesize and summarize information; a working knowledge of DSP programs; must be able to interpret technology requirements and communicate such to project members, staff and faculty who may not be so inclined; must be able to work independently; have a strong commitment to quality service and customer service to faculty, staff, students and other College constituents; and experience in developing strong and effective process improvements goals and metrics for optimal results.
Travel is required to Bay Path’s campus in Puerto Rico once a year for approximately 5-10 business days. Remote work at least 2 days each week is allowed. Salary offered $89,107/year. Send resumes to: HR@baypath.edu.
