The career field for Equipment Operator includes, but may not be limited to, the following positions : Equipment Operator (Grade and Pave Crew), Heavy Equipment Operator, Roller Operator (Self-Propelled, Asphalt, Other than Asphalt), Motor Grader Operator (Rough Grade), Concrete Grinder / Milling Machine Operator, Backhoe Operator, Bobcat Operator, Bulldozer / Push Dozer Operator, Concrete Finishing Machine Operator, Asphalt Paver Machine Operator. / ph3Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) / h3ulliOperate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights, safely and efficiently. / liliFollow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. / liliReport any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager. / liliFollow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite. / liliPerform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor. / liliPerform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. / liliAssist in training less-experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of equipment to further their abilities. / liliRegular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. / liliOther duties as may be assigned. / li / ulh3Qualifications / h3pTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. / ppEducation / Experience / pulliHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. / lili1-2 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. / li / ulpWork Requirements / pulliMust be 18 years in age or older. / liliMust pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check. / liliStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. / liliWillingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. / liliMust be willing to travel and work away from home when required. / liliMust be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. / liliIndividuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
