Job description

Operations Specialist, Logistics

At DoorDash, our mission to empower local economies shapes how our team members move quickly and always learn and reiterate to support merchants, Dashers and the communities we serve. We are a technology and logistics company that started with door-to-door delivery, and we are looking for team members who can help us go from a company that is known for delivering food to a company that people turn to for any and all goods.

About the Role

The Operations Specialist, Logistics will play a key role in facilitating final-mile supply chain logistics at DoorDash Labs. You will be responsible for the handling, movement, and organization of materials, components, and finished goods within our autonomous robotics service environment. This will involve operating a box truck and/or sprinter van with a lift gate to move items ranging from fully assembled robots to individual parts and other equipment between sites. You will ensure all transport activities adhere to safety regulations and maintain the integrity of the materials during transit.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will

  • Perform material handling tasks, including loading and unloading a wide range of components and robotic systems.
  • Safely and efficiently operate various material handling equipment, such as liftgates, forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles, ensuring proper securing and documentation.
  • Handle hazardous materials in accordance with established safety procedures and regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, traffic laws, and relevant government regulations for drivers.
  • Collaborate effectively with service operations, engineering, quality, and other teams to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Proactively identify and suggest improvements to material handling processes and workflows.

We're excited about you because

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a driver operating Box Trucks / Sprinter Vans, serving as a material transporter or logistics associate in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably within high-tech, electronics, or robotics industries.
  • A valid driver's license with a demonstrably clean driving record.
  • Valid certification and proven experience operating various material handling equipment (forklift, reach truck, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of transport/logistics principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Believe in 1% improvement every day
