Job Title: Quality Control Technician – Warehouse (Aerospace)
Job Description
This position serves as a Quality Control Technician in the warehouse of an aerospace manufacturing environment in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses primarily on performing basic quality inspections of engine components and other parts using hand measurement tools, while accurately documenting results in internal systems. You will combine hands-on inspection work with data entry, inventory tracking, and shipping/receiving activities to ensure that all materials meet specifications and are properly recorded within the company’s ERP system.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic quality inspections on aerospace parts and materials for approximately 90% of the workday using hand inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Verify the accuracy of basic part dimensions and sizes against specifications and standards.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately in internal databases and quality control systems.
- Monitor and support the internal auditing system to help maintain compliance with quality standards and procedures.
- Enter data from final inspections into the internal ERP database to ensure accurate quality records.
- Enter data for incoming and receiving shipments of engine components and other materials, ensuring correct documentation for shipments to and from key partners.
- Support basic shipping and receiving activities, including processing incoming materials and preparing outgoing shipments.
- Use Microsoft Office applications to generate, update, and maintain documentation and reports related to inspections, inventory, and shipments.
- Utilize UPS and FedEx systems for shipping labels, tracking, and coding to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
- Assist with purchase order and inventory tracking activities, learning and applying internal processes and tools as needed.
- Contribute to warehouse and document control tasks for the remaining portion of the workday, supporting organized and accurate records.
- Follow established quality control, receiving inspection, and inventory management procedures to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with team members in a tight-knit, team-oriented environment to meet production and quality goals.
- Adhere to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement principles in daily work activities.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on quality inspection experience, spending the majority of the day (around 90%) performing inspections.
- Ability to use micrometers and calipers to perform basic dimensional inspections on parts and materials.
- Basic shipping and receiving experience, including handling incoming and outgoing materials.
- Strong data entry skills with the ability to accurately input information into ERP or MRP systems.
- Experience working with an ERP or MRP program (experience with Lotus Notes (LN) or similar systems is acceptable).
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with UPS and FedEx coding and labeling systems for shipping and tracking.
- Background in logistics, order tracking, inventory control, and inventory management.
- Experience with receiving inspection and documentation within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow established quality control processes and maintain accurate inspection and inventory records.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Aerospace industry experience is ideal but not required.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems for receiving inspection and warehouse inventory management.
- Understanding of purchase order and inventory tracking processes, with willingness to learn internal tools and procedures.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement practices is beneficial.
- Experience in material handling and warehouse operations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing documentation and inventory records.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Work Environment
This position is based in an aerospace manufacturing warehouse environment in Phoenix, AZ. The facility operates on a second shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 2:15 . to 11:45 . (9-hour days) and Friday from 2:15 . to 6:15 . (4 hours). Work takes place in a production and warehouse setting that supports engine component and materials handling, inspection, and inventory control. The environment follows Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement principles, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and a close, collaborative culture. You will regularly use hand inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers, along with computers and ERP/MRP systems for data entry and documentation. Dress code requires steel-toed shoes, jeans, and a work polo appropriate for a manufacturing and warehouse setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
