Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Machine Operator in Frankfort, IL. Candidate must have machine operation experience.

This is a contract to hire opportunity, meaning you will get hired directly after 3-6 months, depending on your performance and attendance.

Available shifts and pay:
Mon-Fri, 7am – 330pm
$17/hr. - $18/hr.

Job Summary:

• Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushing, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to company standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a numerical computer control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Requirements:

• May be required to stand for long periods of time
• May involve some repetitive motions
• Daily must be able lift up to 3 pounds repetitively
• Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds when replacing fixture (monthly)
• May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers
• Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperatures.
• conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
• Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
• Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization
• Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
• Maintain the production pace of other team members
• Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
