Material Handler Job Title:

Job Summary:

  • The Material Handler is responsible for moving, organizing, storing, and replenishing materials throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • This position plays a key role in supporting production operations by ensuring materials are available where and when they are needed.
  • The Material Handler will work closely with team leads, supervisors, receiving personnel, and management to maintain efficient material flow throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Move materials, parts, and products throughout the factory using a HILO (forklift).
  • Remove and replace storage racks as needed to support production and warehouse operations.
  • Replenish materials in bins, racks, and designated storage locations.
  • Physically stack, organize, and consolidate materials to maximize storage efficiency.
  • Communicate with team leads and supervisors regarding material needs and storage locations.
  • Retrieve materials from the receiving dock and transport them to appropriate storage areas.
  • Coordinate with management to prioritize material routing and special material placement requirements.
  • Assist with staging, organizing, and reconfiguring materials for production and warehouse needs.
  • Support other departments with material handling, staging, and facility organization projects as needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and operating guidelines.
  • Complete company-provided HILO training and certification requirements before operating equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and moving of materials.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment after successful completion of company training.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
