Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Materials Planning Associate / Production Scheduler to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient planning and scheduling of production activities for computers, servers, and other high-tech equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating test and labor capacity, aligning production schedules with customer requirements, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling:

    Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, labor, and test capacity.

    Monitor work order status and adjust schedules proactively to meet customer ship dates.

    Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and test teams to resolve scheduling conflicts or capacity issues.

  • Capacity Validation:

    Validate test capacity (equipment and technician availability) to ensure production readiness.

    Validate labor capacity and work center availability to match production demands.

    Proactively identify capacity constraints and recommend solutions or escalation paths.

  • Customer Alignment:

    Review and align internal Planned Ship Dates (PSDs) with customer Required Ship Dates (RSDs) and Promise Ship Dates (PSDs).

    Ensure all production commitments are realistic and communicated clearly across the organization.

    Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Logistics to keep delivery commitments on track.

  • Data Management & Reporting:

    Maintain accurate scheduling data in Shop Floor Program “ITS”

    Generate production and capacity reports to support planning decisions and performance tracking.

    Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as schedule adherence and on-time delivery.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    Participate in production meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts.

    Analyze production trends and suggest improvements to scheduling and capacity planning practices.

Job Level Specifications:

  • Acquires basic skills through work experience or formal training to perform routine tasks.

  • Tasks are routine, repetitive and manual in nature with minimal complexity or variation and specific to the job.

  • Work is performed under supervision with detailed instructions. Priorities are provided for performing work.

  • Interacts mostly with immediate peers within assigned team. Based on nature of the role, may respond to requests from others in the organization.

  • Impact of decisions is primarily contained to the work of the job.


Work Experience:

  • Typically requires less than one year of related experience.


Education and Certification(s):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • APICS CPIM or equivalent certification.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

  • Experience working in a configure-to-order (CTO) or build-to-order (BTO) production environment.
