Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room Location: Jackson, MS Department: Operating Room Employment Type: 12 week Contract. 3x12. Every third weekend required. Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. The OR Nurse will provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient surgical environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and available Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after surgery Serve in roles such as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse as needed Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members Monitor patients’ conditions and respond to changes during procedures Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols Document patient care, surgical procedures, and outcomes accurately Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience Participate in on-call rotation as required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Mississippi Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing) BLS certification required; ACLS preferred CNOR certification preferred or willingness to obtain Experience Minimum 1–2 years of operating room experience preferred Experience in circulating and/or scrubbing roles highly desirable Skills & Competencies Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques Work Environment Fast-paced surgical setting Requires standing for extended periods Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and surgical equipment (PPE provided) On-call, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
