Team Leader – Operations
Location: Salida, CA
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader – Operations to support production in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is critical to driving safety, quality, and performance while leading and developing frontline teams.
This is a temporary, salaried position on the graveyard shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM). Flexibility to work weekends and provide off-shift support as needed is required.

What You’ll Do
As a Team Leader, you will take ownership of production operations, lead teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, leading people, and making a measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, communicate, and execute measurable goals that support safety, quality, service, and performance
- Lead production teams and foster a high-performing, accountable work environment
- Serve as an Operations Startup Lead for equipment installations and process changes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including standard creation, training, auditing, and performance tracking
- Coach and mentor team members on daily operations and leadership fundamentals
- Support and improve team meetings, one-on-ones, and floor supervision practices
- Collaborate on manufacturing engineering (ME) projects to enhance plant performance
- Assist in managing labor, materials, and operational costs
- Promote and uphold a “Zero Harm” safety culture
- Assign duties, conduct investigations, and prepare operational reports
- Act as Operations Manager during off-shifts or in their absence
- Provide off-shift coverage, escalation support, and cross-functional collaboration
- Maintain a strong floor presence and build rapport with frontline employees
- Champion change management initiatives and foster a growth mindset across the team
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or 5+ years of leadership experience in lieu of a degree
- 5+ years of production/operations experience
- 3+ years of experience supervising manufacturing teams
- Experience developing and managing standard work processes
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and leadership capability
Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying conditions and may occasionally need to climb stairs or ladders.
Compensation
$85,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience
