Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and operate bioreactors at various scales (lab and pilot scale): prepare tubing assemblies, feed bottles, CIP, and SIP Bioreactors.
  • Carry out microbial fermentations and analysis as per guidance from technical advisors.
  • Sample bioreactors and prepare samples for further analysis.
  • Complete check sheets and enter fermentation data into databases.
  • Coordinate fermentation runs and sample analysis among different projects.
  • Troubleshoot process equipment.
  • Prepare media and other solutions.
  • Clean and autoclave process equipment and other instruments.
  • Perform other laboratory housekeeping tasks as assigned.
  • Perform chemical and consumables inventory.
  • This position requires flexible availability including days, nights, and weekends.

Position Requirements
  • Ability to follow SOPs and BRs.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate across departments.
  • Attention to detail and careful record keeping skills.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills
  • 0-3+ years of biotechnology experience preferred
  • Able to work independently.
  • Strong computer skills.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Industrial & heavy machinery
  • The schedule for this position is swinging 12-hour shift work
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of working in an environment where heat, cold, chemical and/or noise hazards are present
  • Must be able to: lift up to 25 pounds at times & climb equipment ladders up to 50 ft
  • Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE)

The pay for this role is $29.00 per hour.
