Job descriptionMaterial Handlers are responsible for unloading deliveries, staging products according to production orders, and maintaining organized inventory.
They support warehouse operations by managing stock, fulfilling shop floor requests, and moving pallets of raw materials and finished goods.
2nd Shift runs Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Unload incoming raw materials from delivery trucks safely and efficiently, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage in accordance with company standards.
Inspect containers to verify they are free from damage or defects.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and move goods throughout both storage and operating zones.
Package products in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
Transport completed packages to designated loading areas using approved power industrial equipment.
Promptly report safety, quality, productivity, or personnel concerns to the Team Leader.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must be able to operate a stand-up tow motor, electric pallet jack, and manual pallet jack.
Current or prior forklift certification is preferred.
Key Competencies Communication Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and documentation.
Ability to communicate clearly with team members and leadership when issues arise.
Mathematical Skills Demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to count inventory, verify labels, and understand part numbers.
Computer Skills Comfortable using scanning devices and basic digital platforms for inventory movement.
Additional Preferred Skills and Qualifications Strong attention to detail and safety.
Ability to adapt to fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
Physical Demands Stand, walk, carry, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use manual dexterity Grasp, reach, and lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly; 25 pounds frequently; 50 pounds occasionally Climb, sit for long periods, and speak/articulate occasionally Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Work Environment Material Handlers are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequently encounter fumes or airborne particles.
While the manufacturing area is climate controlled, employees may experience relatively warm or cold temperatures throughout the year.
Additionally, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud, however, hearing protection is provided and not necessary in all areas of facility.
