The Painter will set up, operate and tend machines that powder coat or paint electrostatic clear coating and thermal curing of plumbing and accessory components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Applies various organic powder coatings or lacquer paint to high quality metal components using electrostatic technology.
- Thermally cures the coatings using standard paint bake ovens.
- Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
- Ensure thorough & even powder coat/paint coverage on each component
- Inspect finishes of workpieces or finished products.
- Measure ingredients or substances to be used in production processes.
- Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning.
- Operate coating or painting equipment, adjusting controls to regulate flow of production materials or products.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Educations and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum 3-years’ experience applying clear liquid coating or powder coating to metal parts using electrostatic technology.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to make adjustments to powder coat application equipment to obtain optimum coating results.
- Ability to adjust oven temperature to obtain optimum powder coat cure for a variety of shapes and weights of metal parts.Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others.Ability to produce consistent, high quality coatings in a high production environmentAttention to detail when coating.Effective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a teamAbility to problem solve

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally walk, squat, kneel and use his/her dominant hand to manipulate, push and pull. Will frequently bend at the waist and with dominant hand complete simple and power grasping. The position will constantly stand and use repetitive hand movement. This position requires the ability to occasionally push or pull up to 50lbs, and frequently lift up to 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing warehouse environment and will be exposed to equipment and machinery. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate. Working in manufacturing environment which includes, dust, fumes, cold, and heat, humidity from powder coating and chemical solutions.
