The Postdoctoral Research Associate will lead AI model development for data analysis. The role centers on advanced transformers and multimodal models that integrate skin images with accompanying data. The postdoc will both curate/collect new datasets and leverage existing datasets to build robust, generalizable models.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement cutting-edge transformer and multimodal architectures for skin image and data analysis.
- Build end-to-end ML pipelines (data ingestion, preprocessing, training, validation, deployment/packaging).
- Curate datasets: collect new data (as appropriate) and/or use existing data; ensure data quality, documentation, and governance.
- Rigorously evaluate model performance, bias, and generalizability; conduct ablations and error analysis.
- Prepare manuscripts, conference papers, and grant materials; present results internally and externally.
- Maintain reproducible codebases (version control, testing, MLOps best practices).
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations/ethics for data use.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in CS, ECE, BME, Biomedical Data Science, or related field.
- Strong background in deep learning with demonstrated experience in transformers and/or multimodal learning.
- Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience with computer vision or medical imaging model development and evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong publication record commensurate with career stage.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with clinical collaborations and handling regulated or sensitive health data.
- Familiarity with MLOps, experiment tracking, and reproducibility at scale.
- Prior work in dermatologic or biomedical imaging.
