SAIC is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our team in providing direct support to the Maneuver Battle Lab located at Fort Benning, GA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role is a key part of a team advancing the U.S. Army's simulation capabilities for distributed experimentation, evaluation, and studies across major commands.

The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis and development of sophisticated simulation interfaces, engaging in a full range of software development activities from requirements implementation to systems integration.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Software Development: Perform functional analysis to translate software specifications into robust application software.
  • Develop, test, and integrate software solutions related to advanced information technologies.
  • Code Management: Read, produce, and maintain high-quality Java code.
  • You will be responsible for identifying and correcting simulation errors, as well as coding new functionality to meet project requirements.
  • Version Control: Utilize and manage Git Repositories for all software development activities.
  • Simulation Interoperability: Collaborate with a specialized team to apply High Level Architecture (HLA), Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) protocols, and other emerging standards to create and enhance simulation federations.
  • Systems Integration: Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements implementation, interface and data architecture design, validation, verification, and final systems integration.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor's degree with 0 years' experience. Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Programming: High proficiency in Java coding is required. Version Control: Must be proficient with Git Repositories.
  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems is essential. Development Practices:
  • Some knowledge of Agile technical practices. Office Software: Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-Oriented: A keen attention to detail and a commitment to completeness.
  • Time Management: The ability to work effectively under deadlines. 1+ year of relevant experience
