What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide safety programs and policies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA (29 CFR 1926), DOT (FMCSA), MSHA, and EPA regulations
- Exercise stop-work authority for imminent safety hazards
- Develop site-specific safety plans (SSPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Lead, hire, train, and mentor Field Safety Representative(s)
- Provide safety guidance to superintendents, foremen, and field crews
- Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
- Investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, and vehicle accidents
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Manage Workers’ Compensation programs, insurance claims, and return-to-work initiatives
- Oversee OSHA 300 logs, reporting requirements, and regulatory notifications
- Represent the company during regulatory inspections and client safety meetings
- Develop and oversee safety training programs and new hire orientations
- Monitor EMOD scores, injury trends, and safety performance metrics
- Conduct environmental, fleet, and risk audits
- Coordinate safety initiatives with HR, Operations, Legal, and Executive Leadership
- Approve safety equipment purchases and manage safety-related expenditures
What You Bring
- Minimum 4 years of safety management experience in construction
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
- Expert knowledge of OSHA construction standards
- Strong working knowledge of DOT and EPA regulations (MSHA knowledge a plus)
- Experience with incident investigation and claims management
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence field teams and operations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience using safety management or incident tracking systems
