Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come.

Job Summary:

The Poland AP1000 Engineering Procurement Lead will provide oversite and guidance of responsible engineers across all disciplines to advance procurement of equipment and commodity of the AP1000 facilities. This position will report to the Project Engineer for procurement. The Procurement Lead will be responsible for interfacing with Engineering Management to develop the processes and procedures for the engineering-procurement interface. The Procurement Lead will also be responsible for training the engineering team, coordinating with the procurement function, and ensuring the overall quality of procurement packages.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” #LI-TN1

  • Oversee creation and verification of engineering documentation required for procurement, such as technical specifications, datasheets, bills of material (BOM), source evaluation criteria, and quality requirements—ensuring packages meet nuclear‑grade expectations.
  • Create, maintain, and actively manage procurement-related engineering schedules. Identify risks to schedule performance early, evaluate recovery options, and drive corrective actions in collaboration with project controls and discipline leads.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Management, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, Startup, ES&H, and the customer to resolve technical issues, clarify requirements, and maintain alignment with EPC execution priorities.
