JOB SUMMARY:
The Product Developer leads the end-to-end development of a key licensed brand and Momentec product lines, with a primary focus on uniform categories. This role is responsible for executing the full product development lifecyclefrom initial concept through final production approvalensuring alignment with brand standards, customer expectations, and business objectives. Working in close partnership with the Licensed Product Line Managerwho provides day-to-day direction for the key licensed brandand collaborating with the Momentec Product Line Management team for owned brands, the Product Developer partners with licensed customers and cross-functional teams, including design, sourcing, technical design, and operations, to drive the successful execution of seasonal product launches. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to pivot as business needs evolve while maintaining a strong focus on quality, timelines, and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
- Support and execute product strategies for licensed partnerships and Momentec-owned uniform assortments by developing assigned product lines, ensuring specifications, prototypes, and costing align with market and category expectations.
- Create and maintain technical packages, including fabric, trim and color development; create technical sketches; request prototype samples; and analyze product costing, evaluate sourcing alternatives, and make recommendations regarding product features, construction methods, and partnering with sourcing on vendor selection to achieve margin and profitability objectives.
- Lead and manage fit sessions, reviewing samples with the Product Line Manager, Design, and/or licensed customer.
- Provides feedback to manufacturing/vendor teams to improve fit and design, ensuring all products meet customer and market needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to translate design concepts into final products that meet specifications, cost, and performance objectives.
- Provide clear and actionable feedback to manufacturing and vendor partners to improve fit, design, construction, and overall product quality.
- Track and communicate progress against the commercialization calendar with the Product Line manager and/or licensed customer.
- Serve as a primary point of contact with manufacturing partners, evaluating production capabilities, negotiating development solutions, and making recommendations regarding vendor performance, quality improvements, and commercialization readiness.
- Proactively resolve design, planning, costing, quality, and delivery challenges through cross-functional collaboration.
- Collaborate with Product Line Manager to assess market trends, customer requirements, and product performance data to develop recommendations for future product assortments, category growth opportunities, and process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to product development timelines and established development calendars.
- Own the accuracy and maintenance of style information within licensed customer PLM systems and/or DeSL and communicate all updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Respond to technical inquiries from Customers and Customer Service in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Support M3 system setup and execution.
- Update and revise technical packages for existing products as needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Textile Design or Management.
- 4 years of professional product development experience, including specification development, technical design, and/or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of garment construction and understanding of garment fit.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas effectively.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to stand and walk regularly.
- Occasionally, be able to lift/carry, push/pull up to 35 lbs.
- Frequent head and neck rotation.
- Frequent handling, grasping, and writing as needed for daily tasks at a standard computer workstation.
- Ability to constantly use a computer keyboard/mouse/monitor to enter data (repetitively).
- Ability to endure occasional movement bending, stooping, and reaching above shoulder level as needed for daily tasks.
- Occasionally climb stairs to multi-level work site.
- Ability to distinguish colors and shades.

WORK HOURS:
- Full-Time: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM
- Hybrid/Remote position: The typical schedule includes working from home on Mondays and Fridays and working in our Statesville, NC location Tuesdays-Fridays. This position will change to a hybrid/remote position out of our Kannapolis, NC location as early as later this year.
