Job description

Bio-Rad is looking for a Production Assembler. The role will do the following tasks:

  • Operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on semi-automated filling and labeling equipment for consumables.
  • Setup and operate finishing equipment: dispense, package, cap, torque, and assemble dry and/or wet products, components, and kits according to established procedures.
  • Verify materials against process orders, prepare work areas for production, perform line clearance, and maintain organized, compliant workspaces.
  • Follow all work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, quality system requirements, PPE protocols, and 5S standards.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections using visual, automated, electronic, and mechanical methods; weigh and verify finished products against specifications.
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and in accordance with good documentation practices.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting, monitor production conditions, and promptly communicate abnormal conditions or issues to supervisors.
  • Manage material flow by operating motorized and non-motorized equipment; monitor inventory levels and ensure proper scrap and waste disposal. Forklift certification will be required.
  • Maintain and update quality records and support compliance and audit readiness.
  • Cross-train on one or more production lines and support special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including different shifts, as required.
  • Occasional use of a full-face supplied air breathing mask is required for this position.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Ensure consistent output by operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining finishing equipment to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Maintain product quality and regulatory compliance through accurate execution of manufacturing processes, in-process inspections, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support team capability and performance by training, mentoring, and sharing operational knowledge with fellow operators.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting 5S practices, waste reduction efforts, process improvements, and new product introductions.
  • Promote a safe and accountable work environment by complying with PPE and safety requirements and proactively communicating production issues.

What You Bring:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Work Experience: 0-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, to write, to comprehend, and follow written instructions.
  • Basic math, problem solving and computer skills.
  • Transaction in SAP experience, a plus.
  • Experience operating manual, semi-auto and automatic production machinery, preferred.
  • Utilize basic technical skills to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Team player/ flexible/ attentive to detail and quality minded.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, with overtime and weekends as needed.

Location: This position must be based in Richmond, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $37,000 to $51,000 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
