Summary

Responsible for the daily coordination and communication of task cards and materials between planning, purchasing, and production in support of the aircraft schedule. Responsible for enabling production personnel to accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, including the maintenance of task cards and identification and creation of material requirements. Coordinate with all production support departments to create and maintain shortage reports and provide clear, professionally communicated status to all levels within the organization. Use aircraft schedules to release tasks to production and expedite all materials in support of those tasks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain task cards, tally sheets, installation prints, and non-routines by aircraft in accordance with the Repair Station Manual / Quality System Manual (RSM / QSM), company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Generate non-routine work orders, close out completed task cards and non-routine work orders.
  • Load and prioritize all part / material requirements to purchasing based upon aircraft and / or maintenance / modification schedule.
  • Support make / buy process, coordinate for required inputs and issue timely and accurate work orders / routers in accordance with requirements.
  • Maintain and distribute task cards, work orders and drawing books to racks ensuring they are up to latest revision; perform regular self-audits to ensure accuracy and revision control.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and manage the Shortage Reporting (SFC440) process to ensure communication and performance (demand-to-supply) gaps are closed with clear exception management processes / disciplines.
  • Liaison between production, programs and purchasing personnel regarding parts / material priorities.
  • Maintain close contact with maintenance personnel to ensure that all kits are inventoried and complete for maximum uptime.
  • Assist in prioritizing and expediting tools and material.
  • Assist organization with the identification of customer furnished materials, purchased, manufactured, modified, exchanged, etc., as required.
  • Maintain appropriate computer databases as required within various shared files; update information in company resource planning (ERP) databases including CIMA and Issue Tracking System (ITS).
  • Coordinate with other departments for proper documentation tracking.
  • Perform variety of clerical duties, data entry, setting up, and maintaining various files.
  • Support the development and maintenance of historical information and database files for modifications and labor hours.
  • Maintain a structured and standardized working area, organized for internal customers, for access to work orders, task cards, and current drawings.
  • Maintain professional communication with customer / representatives both internally and externally.
  • Complete initial / recurring training in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assist in training and mentoring within the team.
  • Assign tasks and examine work for exactness, completeness, and conformance.
  • Understand, develop / standardize procedures to expedite workflow, improve efficiency of team.
  • Resolve issues related to the generation, and handling task cards, work orders, drawings and documents.
  • Develop, produce and analyze reporting metrics, KPIs and other measures of productivity, quality and efficiency.
  • Attend meetings and keep team informed of priorities, key issues, and topics.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent reading, writing and mathematical skills; college preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience within, or related to the assignment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with aircraft installation, maintenance and/or modification processes.
  • Familiarity with aircraft manuals and related aviation maintenance publications.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.

Language Skills

  • Read, write, & understand the English language.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including proposals, contracts, statements of work and engineering documents.
