Atthe heart of our work is an exemplary summer academic program serving students fromkindergarten through 12th grade, offering instruction in reading, math, and science - pairedwith swimming lessons, field trips, and enrichment.Our year-round programming includes tutoring, family events, student recruitment, andenrichment activities that extend our impact beyond the summer months. Our mission is topartner with youth, their families, and the community to enrich the lives of students with the joyof learning, the skills for success, and the inspiration to realize their dreams.As a small and dedicated two-person staff, every team member plays a critical role in makingthat mission possible. This means all staff wear many hats, pitch in wherever needed, and bringa deep sense of ownership and care to everything they do.Position OverviewHorizons Savannah is seeking a highly organized, mission-aligned Operations & ProgramManager to serve as the operational and programmatic backbone of our organization. This roleis responsible for keeping the administrative, financial, and logistical functions of theorganization running smoothly while also playing a hands-on leadership role in the planning,execution, and continuous improvement of our summer academic program and year-roundinitiatives.This is not a behind-the-desk-only position. The ideal candidate is equally comfortablemanaging spreadsheets and vendor relationships as they are building trust with teachers in thesummer program, troubleshooting day-of logistics at a field trip, or representing HorizonsSavannah at a community event. The role demands flexibility, initiative, and a genuine love forworking in a youth-serving environment.The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who communicates with warmth andprofessionalism, thrives in a dynamic small-nonprofit environment, and finds deep meaning insupporting work that positively impacts the lives of children and families.Key day to day responsibilities include duties in the areas of: Administrative and Office OperationsFinancial ManagementHuman Resources & StaffingSummer Program LeadershipAcademic Year ProgrammingGrant Reporting & ComplianceData Entry & ReportingCommunity Presence & Organizational CultureQualificationsRequired• 2+ years of experience in office administration, operations, program coordination, or aclosely related role• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines,and competing demands• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to correspondprofessionally with families, funders, faculty, and community partners• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace and comfort learning newplatforms and databases• Comfort working in the field and in community settings - including school campuses,outdoor environments, and off-site program locations• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all areas of work• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment in a small-team environment• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between program sitesPreferred• Experience in a non-profit, education, youth development, or human services setting• Familiarity with bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks) or student/donor managementdatabases• Experience supporting grant reporting or funder compliance• Experience with curriculum planning, instructional support, or academic programmanagement• Bachelors degree in business administration, nonprofit management, education, or arelated field• Genuine passion for educational equity, youth development, and supporting under-resourced youth and familiesA background check and reference check is required for this position.
