Medical Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant with 35 years of experience to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience rooming patients, preparing them for provider visits, assisting with follow-up care, and supporting both clinical and administrative operations. Proficiency with EMR systems is required, with Athena experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for their visit with the physician
- Assist patients with follow-up steps and provide clear post-visit guidance
- Accurately document patient information using the EMR system (Athena preferred)
- Schedule appointments and manage patient calendars efficiently
- Provide administrative and medical reception support as needed
- Deliver excellent customer service at the front desk
- Support medical scheduling and patient access functions
Required Qualifications
- 35 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience in surgical specialties and/or family medicine
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Athena strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Bilingual skills in Spanish
Additional Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience with appointment scheduling and administrative support
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primary location: Pearland Home clinic
- Travel required one day per week (Mondays) to Kingwood (mileage reimbursed)
- Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:30 AM5:00 PM
- After a two-week training period, the role will require the ability to work independently

This is a Contract position based out of Pearland, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
