LYRIC is seeking a thoughtful and experienced Schools Program Coordinator to join our School-Based Initiatives Team. This role focuses on delivering support-based, group-centered programming at public middle and high schools across San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Through group facilitation, curriculum development, and student engagement, this role helps create a positive and inclusive environment for young people navigating a range of life experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity for a youth development professional who is passionate about education, relationship-building, and building supportive communities in school settings.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitate school-based group programs that support personal development, peer connection, and social-emotional growth.
  • Deliver and refine curriculum that is age-appropriate, supportive, and relevant to students' experiences.
  • Create welcoming and respectful group environments that encourage participation and peer support.
  • Provide individual check-ins and basic resource support for students as needed.
  • Support the design and delivery of programming aligned with school and organizational goals.
  • Track attendance and outcomes to support quality improvement and contract compliance.
  • Assist in developing and updating materials and resources used in student programming.
  • Ensure timely communication with school sites and team members.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with school staff, counselors, and administrators.
  • Participate in care team or student support meetings when appropriate.
  • Support school-based and community events that promote positive youth development and engagement.
  • Represent LYRIC as a reliable and professional partner at school sites.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student participation and program activities.
  • Contribute to internal reports and funder documentation as needed.
  • Use organizational data systems to track engagement and report on deliverables.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and organization-wide events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support shared goals.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional workplace culture.

Who You Are

You are an experienced youth program facilitator with a strong understanding of school-based work. You care deeply about supporting students, value collaboration, and bring strong organizational and communication skills to your role.

You bring:

  • At least 2 years of experience in youth programming, education, or related fields.
  • Experience facilitating structured group activities or workshops with middle school and/or high school students.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in program coordination and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities across various school sites.
  • Experience building effective partnerships with school personnel and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other digital tools.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Understanding of Youth Development Principles, Harm Reduction, and Youth Sexual Health
  • Ability to navigate and ride public transportation to various school sites across San Francisco

Preferred experience includes working with:

  • Public schools or educational programs
  • Community-based organizations
  • Students facing housing insecurity, immigration challenges, or other barriers to success
  • Youth support services or case coordination

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage: $30.58/hour (non-negotiable, per LYRIC's equity-based compensation model) Schedule: 40 hours/week, in-person Union: This is a union-represented position with OPEIU Local 29

Benefits Include:

  • $800/year Health & Wellness Cash Supplement
  • $1,000/year for professional development
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and acupuncture/chiropractic coverage
  • 403(b) retirement plan with up to 4% employer match
  • Optional health FSA and commuter benefits

Time Off:

  • 19 paid holidays (including your birthday + winter closure)
  • 19 vacation days
  • 18 sick days
  • 1 personal day
  • Bereavement, jury duty, and critical incident leave

Why Join Our Team?

  • Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students across San Francisco.
  • Work with a collaborative and mission-driven organization.
  • Grow your skills in program facilitation, youth engagement, and school partnership work.
  • Receive competitive benefits and professional development support.
