Assessment and Accreditation Coordinator for the School of Education
Located in the state capital, the University of Illinois Springfield is one of three members of the University of Illinois system. The University serves more than 4,000 students in 44 graduate and 56 undergraduate programs. The Assessment and Accreditation Coordinator for the School of Education is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive systems that support institutional and programmatic accreditation, certification, and internal quality reviews. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, advises unit personnel on evolving regulatory requirements, and leads strategic initiatives to meet accreditation standards. This position plays a critical role in sustaining the school's academic integrity, regulatory alignment, and continuous improvement efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain assessment and accreditation systems needed for the School of Education accrediting bodies, certifying agencies, and internal reviews.
- Develop and promote organization policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations with regard to assessment and accreditation and advise unit personnel on areas of regulatory concern, regulatory strategy, and new government / regulation changes potentially impacting the unit.
- Stay current with regulations, develop practices to help meet guidelines and monitor those practices, and maintain all records required to certify and maintain accreditation.
- Ensure assessment practices align with accreditation standards and expectations. Maintain comprehensive records of assessment and accreditation activities ensuring documentation is organized, current, and accessible.
- Prepare unit quality enhancement plan, including process development, compliance certification and comprehensive documentation, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support the design of measurable learning outcomes, curriculum maps, and assessment instruments that align with program goals and institutional standards.
- Lead and manage annual reporting process required by the Illinois State Board of Education and other state and national accrediting bodies to maintain approval of unit and program / licensure.
- Prepare and manage random and regular Assessment Team visits by ensuring data is current and readily available.
- Develop plans and serve as the Title II Coordinator, responsible for producing the annual Title II report to the federal government.
