The Position

The Public Works Service Area Real Estate Team is looking for a Property Coordinator Program Assistant to join their dynamic team! Job Appointment: Casual Work Schedule: 20 hours/week. This role will work with their supervisor to determine their schedule. Note: Community Service Aide (I-IV) positions have a maximum of 1,400 hours in a calendar year. Work Location: In person and hybrid schedule. When in-person, this role will report to the Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Ave., Portland, OR 97204 Starting Pay: Hourly range for this role is $27.59-$57.38, dependent on experience.

Position Summary: The Public Works Service Area Real Estate Team, on behalf of Portland Parks & Recreation, supports the equitable management of more than 11,677 acres of parkland, including 157 developed parks and more than 200 buildings and structures (community centers, residential, commercial, retail, office, industrial, and other). Our goal is to deliver a wide range of parks and recreation services to a diverse array of park users.

This role drafts and negotiates a variety of real estate agreements, provides support and processing for the Non-Park Use Permit program, coordinates resolution of tenant issues, and performs property research. The Property Coordinator Program Assistant (CSA III) manages and reports out on assigned projects and other related work. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of drafting and negotiating legal language, conducting negotiations, and performing real estate research.

What you'll do:

  • Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of legal documents, reports, and real estate agreements such as, leases, licenses, permits, easements, purchase and sale agreements, and intergovernmental agreements.
  • Perform property research, such as contract interpretation, property ownership determination, and real estate comparables.
  • Support tenants by coordinating agreement-related requests, such as work orders, contract interpretation, and amendment of current agreements.
  • Process Non-Park Use Permits and support the Non-Park Use Permit team with property related research.
  • Ensure anti-racism, equity, and transparency are placed in the forefront of all property transactions and interactions.
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders, such as regional agencies, grassroots organizations, partner groups, non-profit organizations, businesses, and City bureaus.
