The Director, Program Management – APL PS will lead a portfolio of complex, multi-year APL programs for our largest strategic clients. This leader is accountable for end-to-end delivery, governance, and client outcomes across implementations, conversions, and major platform initiatives, ensuring programs are delivered predictably, safely, and in a way that scales.
This role sits at the intersection of clients, Product, Engineering, and Account Management, driving alignment on priorities, scope, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery for a portfolio of APL programs, including large conversions, platform rollouts, and strategic enhancements, from discovery through production stabilization.
- Establish and run program governance, including steering committees, RAID logs, decision logs, and executive reporting.
- Ensure programs are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope, with clear change control and risk management practices.
- Drive cross-team coordination across Professional Services, Product, Engineering, QA, and Operations.
Client Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a senior point of contact and trusted advisor for key APL clients, including Ameriprise, LPL, Raymond James, and Wells.
- Translate client priorities into clear program roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics.
- Manage executive-level communications, including status reporting, risk and issue escalation, and go-live readiness.
Governance, Controls & Production Readiness
- Implement and enforce delivery controls and governance frameworks, including finance and revenue recognition requirements.
- Oversee release and production support planning for major events such as conversions, go-lives, and large releases, partnering with L2/support and operations teams.
- Ensure programs incorporate testing strategy, conversion planning, and operational readiness, including files, jobs, and controls.
Commercial & Portfolio Alignment
- Partner with Account Management to align on Professional Services scope and revenue expectations by client, including SOW structure, change orders, and support offerings.
- Identify and package client needs into SOWs, retainers, and follow-on work, including program governance and platform stability services.
- Contribute to account planning and portfolio roadmapping, ensuring delivery commitments support broader subscription and product strategies.
Practice & Methodology Development
- Define and continuously improve APL delivery methodologies, runbooks, and templates for implementations and conversions, including APL 10 and TradeFlow.
- Champion best practices in program management, governance, and risk management across the APL PS organization.
- Mentor project and program managers informally, raising the bar on planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of experience in Program and Project Management, including 5+ years leading large, complex programs in financial services or enterprise software.
- Proven experience delivering multi-workstream, multi-year client programs with multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Strong background in governance, controls, and risk management, including familiarity with finance and revenue-recognition-aware delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior client stakeholders and manage C-level expectations.
- Experience working with distributed, cross-functional teams across Professional Services, Product, Engineering, QA, and Operations.
- Excellent communication, executive storytelling, and negotiation skills.
Preferred
- Experience with managed accounts, SMA/UMA, trading, performance, or tax-aware platforms.
- Background in APL, APL 10, TradeFlow, or similar wealth and asset management platforms.
- Formal project or program credentials such as PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or Agile certifications.
- Prior responsibility for large client programs or portfolios in a vendor or consulting environment.

- Programs are delivered on time and on budget with high client satisfaction, including strong NPS/CSAT results and client references.
- Strong, referenceable relationships with strategic APL clients and repeat program wins.
- Improved predictability, governance, and risk management across the APL program portfolio.
- Reusable frameworks and runbooks that simplify and de-risk future implementations and conversions.
