What would you do as a After School Program Recreation Aide
As a Seasonal After School Program Recreation Aide, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and assisting children with their homework, arts and crafts, and the development of essential teamwork and social skills. Your creativity and innovation will shine as you develop engaging instructional methods that captivate participants' interests. Ensuring a safe environment is crucial, as you will inspect facilities for potential hazards and promptly report broken equipment to your supervisor. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing recreation and athletic programs tailored to the community's needs. This position not only allows you to foster individual growth in children but also empowers you to enhance community engagement through well-structured recreation initiatives.
Requirements for this After School Program Recreation Aide job
To excel as a Seasonal After School Program Recreation Aide, you must possess a strong understanding of safety hazards and the necessary precautions to create a safe environment for all participants. A sound knowledge of basic fundamentals and techniques related to athletics, fitness, cultural/social activities, and arts and crafts is essential for effectively engaging children in diverse activities. Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with children and their families will set you apart as a leader and mentor. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe environment for recreation and athletic program participants.
- Knowledge of basic fundamentals and techniques of athletics, fitness, cultural/social activities and/or arts and crafts sufficient to be able to perform a variety of duties related to the work assignment.
- Must be able to physically exhibit and conduct program activities offered to participants.
