Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Tonawanda, NY, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Manufacturing Engineer to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled programmer and/or machinist who is looking to take the next step in their career!
This is an onsite/ full-time/ direct-hire position
Salary based on experience: Up to $43/hr with immediate OT offered!
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Create processes for machined components
- Write CNC programs for turning centers, vertical machining centers as well as multi-spindle/ multi-axis lathes.
- Mazatrol's programming experience is a plus.
- Prepare jobs with programs, tools, and required setup information.
- Advise, train, and help shop floor on all machining processes
- Work with shop floor personnel to identify and design required fixtures for manufacturing, testing, and assembly.
- Create detailed drawings and design tools/fixtures as required.
- Apply lean principles to existing and new processes to reduce waste in the value stream.
- Participate in continuous improvement events and follow through on action items
- Work within a team-based environment to troubleshoot processes and take corrective actions to further develop operations
- Act as a liaison between Design Engineers and Manufacturing
- Develop and execute plans to meet Company Productivity measure
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental actions as appropriate
Skills, Education & Experience: - 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred
- 5 years of CNC Programming / Machining experience ( MasterCam a plus )
- Solidworks experience is a plus
- Proficient knowledge of machining principles.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, improving processes with tooling and fixturing
- Writing detailed work instructions, incorporating visuals where appropriate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and solid modeling (Solidworks or equivalent CAD software)
- Experience working in an MRP/ERP system
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Working knowledge of ISO principles and clauses
