We work on a wide variety of projects, focusing on both infectious diseases (e.g., HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and congenital cytomegalovirus) and non-communicable diseases (e.g., diabetes, health impacts of e-cigarettes/smoking). As a programmer in our group, you will have the opportunity to learn about public health issues while using your software skills to help solve global health problems.

Interested candidates should apply via www.massgeneral.org/careers.

o Optimizing models, with a focus on speed and memory usage
o Developing user interfaces for model input/output
o Consulting with research personnel on model structure and parameterization
• Developing new and existing user interfaces, web apps, and data analysis/visualization tools
• Meeting regularly with research personnel to devise innovative and scientifically appropriate solutions to modeling and data analysis challenges
• Working with research personnel to identify workflow issues and develop technical solutions, such as automated scripts or improved user interfaces
• Serving as a technical liaison for external collaborators and model developers
• Contributing to grant proposals by consulting on technical/programming aspects
• Contributing to and acting as co-author on scientific manuscripts and publications (if interested)
• Producing documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
