Snapshot / Role Overview
We’re seeking a Controls Programmer in Ventura, CA to program and support commercial building automation systems for high-efficiency facility operations.

Impact

• Deliver tailored BAS programming and integration for diverse commercial environments

• Ensure seamless system startup and commissioning to minimize delays

• Enhance operational performance through precise controls logic

• Reduce client service costs with well-tested, efficient installations

Responsibilities

• Program building automation systems (primarily Niagara/N4)

• Perform point-to-point checkout and functional testing of control systems

• Create and modify graphics, sequences, and user interfaces

• Support commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting for new and retrofit systems

• Integrate diverse systems (HVAC, lighting, security) into unified BAS platforms

• Collaborate with field techs and engineers to resolve integration issues

• Maintain documentation, drawings, and version control for programs

• Ensure code meets safety, quality, and client specifications

Requirements
Must-Haves

• 5+ years in building automation controls (commercial projects)

• N4 certification (Niagara 4)

• Proficient in BAS programming, graphics, and integration

• Experience in startup, commissioning, and field-level troubleshooting

• Local to Santa Maria area with stable work history

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with multiple BAS platforms (Tridium, Distech, Siemens, etc.)

• Background in HVAC/mechanical systems

• Familiarity with installation and service tasks

• Strong documentation and organizational skills
