We have an amazing opportunity for a driven and curious Project Engineer focused on site civil design to support our team.

The successful candidate will have a passion for sustainable design, building and maintaining client relationships and directing quality management processes to ensure work remains on track, within scope and on budget.

This role includes delegation to design engineers and will leverage and promote each team member’s strengths as a unique value add. This candidate should be prepared to work on projects throughout that country and internationally.

Minimum Skills Typically 6+ years of industry experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - Civil and/or Environmental Experience with Site Grading, Earthwork Calculations, Road Design, Drainage (Calculations & Reports), Utility Layout & Sizing, Technical Report Writing Experience in assembling and collating plan set packages Previous experience in putting together plan set packages and providing redlines for drafters Works independently under general supervision Exercise sound judgment on design decisions and in application of standard methods Work with multiple site base files oriented in different coordinate frames and varying units Preferred Skills Knowledge of Graphics programs (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) Certifications or other sustainability-oriented accreditation preferred (LEED, PE, etc.) Knowledge of GIS principles Client and project team coordination Project schedule and design workplanning Expected Outcomes Plans, designs, and oversees civil engineering projects, such as airports, bridges, buildings, channels, dams, harbors, irrigation systems, pipelines, power plants, railroads, roads, sewage systems, tunnels, and water supply Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering, and advanced mathematics Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards May direct construction and maintenance activities at project site May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents What We Offer Own a part of the firm with ESOP eligibility after one year Flexible working - with every other Friday off Competitive Health plans, including PPO and HMO options, Dental and Vision plans Learning and Development stipend to use as you see fit Generous PTO and 8 paid holidays Automatic 401k enrollment Fun team events, lunches and happy hours to get to know colleagues outside of work A tangible opportunity to truly help the environment! Compensation:

  • The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
  • At Sherwood Design Engineers, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
  • A reasonable estimate of the current range is $112,000 to $137,000.
  • The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
