Position Overview
Our dynamic client is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent / Analyst to support purchasing strategy, inventory planning, and supply chain operations. This role combines data analysis with hands-on purchasing responsibilities to ensure optimal inventory levels, accurate forecasting, and efficient vendor coordination.
The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and comfortable using data to drive purchasing decisions while collaborating across departments to improve overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Order PlanningReview demand forecasts, sales trends, and purchase requisitions to generate purchase ordersEvaluate order requests to ensure alignment with inventory needs and business goalsMonitor order progress and ensure timely delivery, addressing delays or discrepancies
Inventory Analysis & OptimizationAnalyze inventory levels, overstock risks, and storage considerationsDevelop recommendations to improve inventory efficiency and reduce stockoutsAdjust forecasts and purchasing strategies based on trends and business needs
Data Analysis & ReportingBuild and analyze reports using Excel and ERP systems to support decision-makingMaintain accurate product, pricing, and cost dataProvide insights on purchasing trends, cost analysis, and inventory performance
Vendor & Cross-Functional CollaborationMaintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholdersCoordinate with sales and demand planning teams to align inventory with demandManage claims, discrepancies, and exceptions related to orders and shipments
Process Improvement & ComplianceIdentify opportunities to enhance purchasing processes and operational efficiencyMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policiesSupport a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferredMinimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory analysisStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office SuiteExperience with ERP systems such as SAP preferredExcellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilitiesAbility to work both independently and collaboratively
