Purchasing Agent

Location: Stevensville, MD Type: Onsite Travel: 0%

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, innovates and delivers high-performance deployable anywhere technologies that push what's possible at the edge, enabling organizations across the globe to solve complex challenges with speed and confidence. We design, engineer, and deliver products and deployable technologies built for environments where traditional infrastructure falls short.

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking to hire a Purchasing Agent to support our product operations division by executing the day to day procurement and material planning activities that keep customer orders moving. Working alongside the purchasing and production teams at our Enterprise Modernization Center, you will place and track purchase orders, maintain accurate inventory and supplier data, and coordinate the inbound flow of material required to build and deliver our products. This is a hands on, detail driven role well suited to someone early in a supply chain career who wants direct exposure to hardware manufacturing in a mission driven environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase orders, sales orders, and related documentation in accordance with company procurement procedures.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers on quarterly pricing and lead-time updates.
  • Accurately input and maintain inventory, purchase order, and supply chain records in the company's inventory management system.
  • Review and verify data for accuracy and completeness on a recurring basis.
  • Maintain organized records of supply chain transactions, documents, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Partner with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with sales, program, production, and logistics teams to support material flow.
  • Communicate delivery delays or supply chain issues to the Product Operations team promptly.
  • Escalate complex or high-dollar issues to the Purchasing Manager or Director of Product Operations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards across all supply chain activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve supply chain processes.
  • Support special projects, audits, and other supply chain tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management is a plus.
  • Understanding of purchasing, procurement, buying, materials planning, inventory control, or a comparable supply chain function.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage various tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and systems for data entry, inventory management, and communication.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Understanding of supply chain processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
