Interim Assistant Finance Director
The City of Camas is seeking an interim Assistant Finance Director for a limited term (position is expected to last a year with the possibility of up to 2 years).
This is an exempt, non-represented position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental, and vision. Retirement benefits are provided through Washington State Retirement System. Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, and accrued PTO.
Job Duties
This position will report to the Finance Director and is responsible for managing, supervising, and directing assigned operations and will lead high-priority financial projects. This position is responsible for providing highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Finance Director and City departments and will act in the capacity of the Finance Director in their absence.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate shall possess:
- Education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration with continuing education in finance, accounting, and information technology
- Master's degree and/or Certified Public Accountant credential is highly desirable
- Five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or financial management experience
- Two years of proven management responsibility/leadership capabilities and financial reporting preparation
- Ability to coordinate and manage development and/or maintenance of cost models such as an indirect cost rate plan (ICRP).
- Ability to train, motivate, support and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training
- Advanced information technology principles, especially MS Word and Excel
- Governmental accounting experience is required
- Experience with utility billing, payroll and ACFR reporting preferred
