IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, is seeking a Purchasing Agent in Suffolk, Virginia. The role involves initiating or receiving field purchase requisitions, logging and assigning purchase order numbers, and routing them to the purchasing supervisor or project management for approval. The agent will research vendor/supplier prices, delivery dates, and negotiate and place purchase orders with selected vendors, preparing necessary documentation. Additionally, they will negotiate equipment rental agreements, document terms, and complete insurance forms. Long term or "blanket" purchase orders for routine materials will be negotiated and administered. The agent will expedite and coordinate material deliveries, addressing any invoice problems with accounting and vendors, quality requirements with engineering, and material identification with material control. Compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures is mandatory.
