The Assistant Category Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned vendor lines. By building strong vendor relationships and maintaining deep product knowledge, this role serves as the company's central resource for each assigned vendor and product line. The Assistant Category Manager works closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and other departments to maximize sales and profit while minimizing aging inventory and potential line losses. This role works in concert with the Category Manager to oversee the overall category and perform daily category maintenance.
