Virginia Tax is seeking an experienced, senior-level PowerBuilder developer to provide analysis, support, and maintenance for the IRMS legacy system, as well as development and implementation of the GenTax IRMS interface under the direction of Virginia Department of Taxation management. This individual will work collaboratively in a team environment. Responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis, support, and maintenance for the IRMS legacy system.
  • Develop and implement the GenTax IRMS interface.
  • Design and develop clear and maintainable code.
  • Develop PowerBuilder applications using PowerBuilder 12.5 or higher.
  • Develop interfaces to FileNet applications.
  • Develop interfaces to REST APIs.
  • Interact with a multi-disciplined team to clarify, analyze, and assess requirements.
  • Work independently and collaboratively on a multi-disciplined project team in an Agile development environment.
  • Contribute to detailed design and architectural discussions as well as customer requirements sessions to support the implementation of PowerBuilder Applications.
  • Utilize software project tracking tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Communicate effectively with development teams, team leads, and business analysts.
Required/Preferred Skills: Required Skills:
  • 7 years of hands-on experience developing PowerBuilder applications using PowerBuilder 12.5 or higher.
  • 5 years of experience designing and developing clear, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience working with relational databases such as Oracle 19c or higher, MySQL, or similar database technologies.
  • 2 years of experience developing interfaces to FileNet applications.
  • 2 years of experience developing interfaces using REST APIs.
  • 2 years of experience using software project tracking tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with application development teams, team leads, and business analysts.
  • 7 years of demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • 7 years of experience working on multi-disciplined project teams within Agile development environments.
Highly Desired Skills:
  • 7 years of experience with Legacy IRMS systems.
  • Technical knowledge in designing, developing, and maintaining tax processing and revenue management systems.
  • Product knowledge of the IRMS system and related functional business processes.
