A Higher Education client of Insight Global is looking for a Senior Developer to join a small, collaborative development team that manages several mission-critical applications for the School while driving modernization and new development initiatives. This role will primarily focus on modernizing and migrating legacy PHP applications to Ruby on Rails within an AWS environment, leveraging modern tools such as development containers. Approximately 75% of the work will center on this migration effort, while the remaining time will involve supporting existing systems built on ASP.NET with a SQL Server backend. As a senior member of the team, this developer will contribute across the full development lifecycle-design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support-while working closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Key responsibilities include improving front-end usability and visual polish, accelerating delivery for high-priority customer initiatives, reducing knowledge silos within the team, and aligning processes with modern development practices. Additionally, this individual will play an active role in documentation, knowledge sharing, and process improvement.
