Moog is a performance culture that empowers people to achieve great things. Our people enjoy solving interesting technical challenges in a culture where everyone trusts each other to do the right thing. For you, working with us can mean deeper job satisfaction, better rewards, and a great quality of life inside and outside of work.

We are seeking a Cost Accounting Process Analyst to support our Business Process Modernization Program.

Moog is undertaking a major ERP transformation, referred to as the Business Modernization Program, that spans multiple functional areas across our global enterprise. As a company of more than 14,000 employees operating in 24 countries, Moog is known for its culture of trust, innovation, and technical excellence.

As the Cost Accounting Process Analyst you will provide workstream support, contribute to process governance, and ensure high-quality documentation. You will operate within the ERP team and contribute across all transformation phases, including discovery, design, build, test, deploy, and post-go-live stabilization. A key objective of the program is the development of a scalable Global Template, adaptable to varying site sizes and operational complexities.

You will be required to demonstrate effective collaboration across Business Operating Groups, IT, and global site teams, supported by exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.

*You will have an onsite schedule at a Moog facility.

To qualify for the Cost Accounting Process Analyst, here is what you will need to bring with you:

  • Typically, a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Over (5) years of experience in a Cost Accounting, Finance, or SAP Controlling environment, preferably within a manufacturing, project-based, or Aerospace & Defense setting
  • Working knowledge of SAP cost accounting processes, including SAP FI/CO integration, cost center accounting, internal orders, project/WBS costing, allocations, settlements, and period-end close activities
  • Experience in Cost Accounting subjects, such as:
    • Standard cost development, annual cost rolls, rate maintenance, and analysis of labor, material, overhead, and burden cost components
    • Actual costing concepts, including the ability to analyze actual labor, material, overhead, WIP, inventory, and cost of goods sold impacts across SAP financial and operational postings
    • Manufacturing variance analysis, including purchase price, usage, labor, overhead absorption, mix, volume, and settlement variances
    • Inventory valuation, work-in-process, cost of goods sold, and reconciliation between operational activity and financial postings
    • SAP Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution (GPD) experience, including understanding how demand is grouped, available material is pegged, and material costs are distributed to WBS elements, or final cost objectives
    • SAP Controlling master data, including cost centers, activity types, cost elements, internal orders, projects, WBS elements, allocation cycles, and settlement rules
    • Experience troubleshooting SAP costing transactions, data issues, posting errors, and integration points across Finance, Project Systems, Materials Management, Production Planning, Sales & Distribution, and related ERP processes
    • Understanding of Aerospace & Defense business operations, government costing practices, and complex contract types such as T&M, Cost Plus, fixed price, and long-term program accounting is preferred
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret cost drivers, validate financial impacts, reconcile data across systems, and translate findings into clear business actions
  • Ability to document current-state and future-state Cost Accounting processes, identify control gaps, and support standardization within a global SAP template
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across multiple organizational levels, with the ability to explain financial and system concepts to business users, technical teams, and stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Finance, Program Controls, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, IT, and site-based subject matter experts
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain a broader business perspective and evaluate how Cost Accounting decisions affect reporting, compliance, and operational performance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, support testing and deployment activities, and meet deadlines in a transformation program environment
  • Willingness to support approximately 30% travel, both domestic and international

As the Cost Accounting Process Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Business Process & Requirements Support
    • Identify, gather, document, and refine business requirements in collaboration with site-based Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
    • Translate requirements into comprehensive process documentation, value stream maps, and system blueprints
    • Consolidate site-specific requirements into a standardized global Cost Accounting template
  • Solution Design & Process Improvement
    • Identify, design, and implement Cost Accounting solutions within SAP S/4HANA aligned to business objectives
    • Develop end-to-end business processes across Cost Accounting, SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling, and integrated systems to drive operational efficiency
    • Support process improvement initiatives, validating and optimizing workflows for enhanced performance
  • Testing, Deployment & Readiness
    • Participate in unit, functional, and system integration testing for SAP Cost Accounting and integrated ERP applications, including operational technology components
    • Ensure system configurations align with documented business and site requirements
    • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, and deployment readiness activities in coordination with Business Adoption teams
    • Aid in go-live readiness and post-deployment stabilization activities

    • Facilitate master data cleansing and preparation activities to ensure data integrity and consistency
    • Develop and maintain key documentation, including:

    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and system integrators
    • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder communications to ensure alignment and progress
    • Execute Agile activities, including backlog management, user story development, and retrospectives
    • Define, monitor, and report on business KPIs and performance metrics
