Job Summary
The Veterans Center Manager, under the guidance and support of the Dean of Enrollment Services, is responsible for the oversight and operations of the veteran’s center. This position will work in collaboration with the enrollment services teams: Global Education Services, Advising, Admissions & Records, and Financial Aid. This position will optimize student satisfaction and academic success through the development and improvement of veteran enrollment processes, seamless progression, and transition processes including graduation. This position will work closely to oversee the enrollment process from registration through progression; maximizing technology solutions. This position will work with marketing and recruitment to assist with various projects including circulation of updated requirements, communications, and campaigns. Ensures that accurate and relevant data/information is collated and available to leadership team members in a timely and effective manner. Supervise assigned positions within the team, including hiring, onboarding, assigning work, monitoring progress, and resolving problems.
Essential Functions
25% - Develops and/or oversees the implementation of recruitment, admissions, student success, enrollment, records, compliance with federal and state regulations, and other operational strategies and initiatives and provides actionable direction and leadership to the veteran services staff; work may involve developing and implementing plans and strategies, analyzing data and tracking metrics to evaluate plans and programs, and coordinating program operations to ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements. Prepares, maintains, reviews, updates, and/or coordinates the preparation and maintenance of records, reports, and other documentation; work may involve researching and analyzing data, making recommendations based on findings, and ensuring that reporting complies with applicable policies and procedures. Continually assesses college-generated data regarding recruitment and enrollment as well as external information regarding trends and competing forces
25% - Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; providing ongoing professional development for staff; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures. Ensures timely completion of all VA Once certifications, reporting, and other related submissions
25% - Collaborates with enrollment management staff, administrators, faculty, the marketing department, and other internal/external staff, departments, and agencies; serves as a liaison; and attends committee and other meetings to represent the department, communicate specialized and general information, provide recommendations, develop recruitment and enrollment communications and marketing plans, develop strategies to improve operational processes and service delivery, and/or facilitate related operations in the assigned functional area
15% - Manages multiple projects, provides workflow analysis, communicates with college stakeholders, communicates and interfaces with academic affairs teams/offices, provides system analysis and improvement processes. Performs program administration and/or project management including operational planning, budget administration, problem resolution and technical assistance
10% - Other dues as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and five years of progressively responsible student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two years of supervisory experience.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in Business, Management, Administration, Education, Information Technology, or another related field
- Has more than 5 years’ experience with student veterans’ services
- Has more than 5 years’ experience utilizing various technology solutions such as Peoplesoft, CRM, Web-based solutions
- Has more than three (3) years’ experience analyzing complex data and providing recommendations to improve processes and operations
- Has more than three (3) years’ experience with program management principles and practices
- Has more than three (3) years’ experience leading/supervising a team
Special Working Conditions
- Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:
- Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate’s own expense
- Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
- May require numerous evenings or weekends
- May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
- May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
