Job description

MARKETING & REFERRAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders / US Neurology Associates

Department: Marketing / Operations
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Location: Plano / Frisco Office and Field-Based, Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

The Marketing & Referral Development Manager leads the marketing and physician referral development function for Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders and US Neurology Associates.

This role is responsible for driving new patient growth across outpatient neurology clinics by building referral relationships, setting the market outreach strategy, managing digital and social media activity, and ensuring marketing resources are aligned with organizational growth priorities.

This is a hands-on management role for a builder who can set direction while also working directly in the market. The Manager will lead the existing marketing resource, establish measurable weekly and monthly outreach goals, and build a scalable function as the organization grows.

The ideal candidate combines physician liaison and field sales experience with broad healthcare marketing capabilities and strong compliance judgment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team and Function Leadership

  • Lead and develop the marketing and referral development function, including direct management of the current team member and future hires or vendors.
  • Set annual and quarterly priorities, territory plans, activity goals, performance expectations, and operating cadences.
  • Build repeatable processes for referral source segmentation, outreach, follow-up, campaign execution, collateral development, and reporting.
  • Coach the team on physician relationship development, field execution, messaging, and compliance.

Referral Development and Provider Relations

  • Build and maintain a structured referral development territory targeting primary care physicians, internists, family medicine providers, urgent care centers, hospital systems, and relevant specialists.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits to referring provider offices and establish weekly and monthly touchpoint goals.
  • Educate physicians and office staff on TIND and USNA clinical capabilities and subspecialty services, including epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, headache, sleep medicine, EMG and nerve conduction, and infusion therapy.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between referring providers and clinic operations, identifying access barriers and improving referral conversion and retention.
  • Represent TIND and USNA at community events, hospital programs, continuing medical education events, and professional association meetings.

Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing, and Brand Management

  • Lead social media, digital marketing, local search, online reputation, email marketing, and website content initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with clinical services, health awareness campaigns, provider spotlights, and organizational milestones.
  • Oversee the development of provider-facing and patient-facing collateral, presentations, event materials, and referral toolkits.
  • Manage customer relationship management strategy and data quality using Salesforce, HubSpot, or a comparable platform.
  • Ensure marketing activities and materials comply with HIPAA, the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, brand standards, and other applicable requirements.

Analytics and Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Measure referral activity, conversion to appointments, new patient volume by source, provider outreach, campaign performance, and return on investment.
  • Present weekly and monthly performance updates and recommendations to the Vice President of Operations and senior leadership.
  • Partner with clinic operations, scheduling, front desk, revenue cycle, providers, and leadership to improve the referral-to-appointment pipeline.
  • Use market and performance data to prioritize territories, service lines, providers, and campaigns.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Equivalent directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare marketing, physician liaison work, referral development, or medical sales.
  • At least two years of people leadership, team lead, or function-building experience.
  • Proven success building relationships with physicians, practice managers, and clinical staff and growing referral volume.
  • Experience with customer relationship management platforms, digital marketing, social media, campaign analytics, and marketing reporting.
  • Understanding of healthcare marketing compliance, including HIPAA, the Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
  • Ability to work from the Plano or Frisco office and in the field. This is not a remote position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in neurology, neuroscience, infusion, or another complex specialty care setting.
  • Experience managing and developing an established team member while building a broader function.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Google Analytics, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, and eClinicalWorks.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills.

SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Consistent achievement of referral outreach, conversion, and new patient growth targets.
  • Development of a clear and scalable marketing and referral development operating model.
  • Stronger physician relationships and improved visibility across priority Dallas-Fort Worth markets.
  • Actionable reporting that connects marketing activity to patient growth and business results.
