Staff Developer and Risk Manager Combination ( RN)
The position is responsible for the development, implementation, and facilitation of Florida’s Risk Management and Risk Mitigation program. Overseeing the new hire orientation and ongoing education. Position collaborates with other regional team members and facility leadership to develop policies and procedures and ensure adherence with all risk management and risk mitigation federal and state requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assume accountability for development, implementation, and assessment of Risk Management, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement & Abuse Prevention policies and procedures and tools.
· Develop the Risk Management skills of the facility team(s) through ongoing education programs.
· Analyze quality assurance/performance improvement trends and prioritize responses to unusual or negative data.
· Assume accountability for development and implementation of a reporting, tracking, and trending system for all incidents, “adverse incidents”, and “reportable events”.
· Analyze root and contributing causes of events and trends, determine solutions, and provide preventative strategies.
· Provide onsite (or remote as determined by the CNO and VP of Clinical Operations) support to facility leadership during third party surveys including state, local regulatory and abuse agencies, and governmental agencies.
· Analyze deficiencies and provide guidance in responding to risk management, abuse, substandard quality of care, immediate jeopardy, harm, widespread and/or systemic deficiencies.
· Analyze concern and grievance trends and patient/resident and Resident Representative satisfaction survey results.
· Develop facility specific, region, and company level solutions to improve responses.
· Analyze and trend potential and actual liability issues through medical record review of high-risk situations.
· Respond with corrective action plans when weaknesses in documentation and clinical systems are identified.
· Analyze risks involved in potential and actual injury to patients and visitors with Legal Counsel.
· Oversee collection of data and information necessary to defend a resulting claim.
· Assume responsibility of the development of Citadel’s Ethics policies and procedures for skilled nursing facilities.
· Support facilities through comprehending and implementing policies and procedures and providing support on ethical considerations.
· Produce reports for analysis purposes as required by Legal Counsel.
· Coordinate and collaborates with facility leadership, VP of Clinical Operations, Corporate Compliance Officer, Chief Nurse Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and the Chief Human Resources Officer during investigations and remedial efforts.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree or greater
· Licensed Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Florida.
· Must have training in Risk Management or currently enrolled in a Risk Management Training Curriculum that provides education on Florida state regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
· Must have knowledge of office and accounting machines as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long term care and center operation.
· Analytic and problem-solving skills
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Various application skills including, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint.
· Must have knowledge of business transactions, accounting, and credit functions
